iSi North America Recalls Twist'n Sparkle Beverage Carbonation System

Recently, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC"), in conjunction with iSi North America, an importer from Fairfield, New Jersey, announced a voluntary product recall of its Twist'n Sparkle Beverage Carbonation System. Consumers should immediately cease all use of recalled products and additionally bear in mind that it is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a consumer product that has been recalled.

There are approximately 162,000 Twist'n Sparkle Home Beverage Carbonation System plastic bottles currently in distribution throughout the continental United States. The product defect associated with the carbonation system involves the plastic bottles exploding under pressure, expelling plastic parts. These expelled parts are essentially projectiles under the considerable force of the explosion, and this condition results in an obvious injury hazard to users of the subject product and those standing nearby.

The recalling firm is currently aware of multiple incidents involving exploding plastic bottles. The carbonation system consists primarily of plastic bottles used as a part of the iSi Twist'n Sparkle Beverage Carbonation System. The recalled bottles were sold in the Starter Set model number 1005 with one reusable bottle and the Bottle Set model number 1006 with two reusable bottles.

These various model numbers can be found and located on the bottom of the box. The recalled plastic bottles are available in one size and two colors of caps (white or gray). They were manufactured in Europe.
