Product Defect Attorney David Shoop of SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION, reminds consumers of the following recall involving a children's product.

SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION has blogged extensively with regard to defective products injuring children and children's products generally:

As always, SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION reminds everyone to look out for the most vulnerable consumers and product users in any society - our children.

Recently, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC"), in conjunction with Evenflo Inc., of Miamisburg, Ohio, announced a voluntary recall of the Evenflo Convertible high chairs, of which approximately 35,000 units are currently in distribution in the United States.

The product defect associated with these units involve the activity tray on the high chair, which can unexpectedly detach from the unit and allow an unrestrained child to fall, posing a risk of serious bodily injury to the child.

Evenflo has already received eighteen (18) such reports of trays detaching, including eight (8) reports of children who fell from the high chair and sustained injury.

This recall involves Evenflo high chairs that convert from a high chair to toddler-size table and chair. The convertible high chair can be identified by the model names and numbers listed below. Model numbers are located on a label on the lower portion of one of the high chair's legs.

Model Name: Model Number:
Dottie Lime 29111259
Dottie Rose 29111271
Marianna 29111234

Sold at: Toys "R" Us and Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com and Wayfair.com between December 2011 and June 2012 for about $40.
