Burn & Fire Hazards Result in a Product Recall of Sunbeam Heated Blankets

On March 16, 2023, the Sunbeam® Queen Size Heated Blankets were recalled due to the potential that the blankets can overheat resulting in skin burns and fire hazards.

Approximately 43,000 Sunbeam heated blankets were sold in the United States. In Canada, approximately 15,000 Sunbeam heated blankets were sold. The model number for the Sunbeam Queen Size Heated Blanket is 32810027. The model number and the Sunbeam logo are located on the label that is attached to the blanket.

The blankets came in a variety of colors, including gray violet, beige, light gray, ivory, light green, dark gray, burgundy, dark blue and light blue.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has advised that consumers should stop using the blankets right away. There have been 13 reports of overheating by the blankets.

The Sunbeam Queen Size Heated Blankets were sold online at Amazon.com and at smaller stores throughout the United States for approximately $120. The blankets were sold from September 2022 through January 2023.
