The company has received has now received multiple reports of these dishwasher units' heating elements failing, inclusive of multiple reports of residential fires, some of which caused extensive property damage.
This product recall involves the GE ADORA, PROFILE, ETERNA, and HOTPOINT brands, sold in a variety of colors. The identifying serial and model number designations are located on a metallic plate on the left wall of the unit, and visible when the door of the unit has been opened.
These various units were manufactured in the United States and sold at various such appliance dealers, authorized builder-distributors and other retailers nationwide from approximately March of '06 to August '09, selling at roughly between $350.00 and $850.00.
