Dynacraft Scooter Recall

The product liability lawyers at Shoop | A Professional Law Corporation again reiterate that Dynacraft has recalled its City Scooters (with Hello Kitty graphics).

This recall was formally announced on February 26, 2013. The product identifiers on these Dynacraft City Scooters include "Hello Kitty" designs with model number 8801-03.

The product defect associated with these various scooters involves an unintended acceleration issue, wherein these Dynacraft scooters spontaneously accelerate while in operation, thereby causing young riders to lose control of the scooter and fall.

There are approximately 5,000 of these various scooters currently in distribution, and this recall includes recall the electric variety which is a battery-powered City Scooter. These various products were manufactured between 9.10.12 and 12.3.12.

  • Labels printed on a data label on the underside of the scooter platform, with serial numbers listed as "QYCEI" followed by 6 digit numbers as follows:
    • 000001 through 014456.

Dynacraft is already in receipt of 9 reports from the field regarding unintended acceleration injuries to children. Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC") recommends that purchasers cease the use of these scooters immediately. they were sold at retail in Toys R Us stores and additionally at nationally from 10.2012 to 1.2013 for approximately $279.
