Stroller Recall Attorneys

The product liability attorneys at Shoop | A Professional Law Corporation again warn of product defect and recall involving importer, Mutsy USA Incorporated, of New Jersey. The firm has recently issued a voluntary product recall, in conjunction with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC") of its EVO Strollers due to associated risks and hazards of strangulation.

Of course, consumers should cease the use of these recalled products and note further that it is illegal to resell or otherwise attempt to sell a recalled consumer product.

The recall of the company's brown, EVO strollers was announced on February 7, 2013, and involves approximately 350 such units, manufactured from February 2012 to approximately November 2012, and containing the following product identifiers:

  • MT12-03
  • MT12-11
  • MT12-14, MT12-31
  • MT12-34, MT12-37
  • MT12-39, MT12-42
  • MT12-43, MT12-48

These product identifiers (model numbers) and corresponding date codes are located under each stroller's seat on a white sticker. The product defect associated with these strollers involves the grab bar and seat bottom of the stroller, which permits a child's body to slip through the unit and resultantly entrapped, posing an unacceptable risk of strangulation if the infant is not fully secured.

These various units were sold at retail in juvenile stores nationwide and additionally on the internet at various such retail websites between the months of April and December, 2012 at a cost of approximately $400. These strollers were manufactured in China.

The United States CPSC remains interested in receiving incident and/or injury reports associated with this product recall.
