The product liability lawyers at Shoop | A Professional Law Corporation again warn of the recall involving Makalot Garments Co., children's pajamas due to violations of federal flammability standards. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC"), together with Makalot Garments of Taiwan, announced recently a voluntary product recall of these children's pajamas, which are two-piece pajama sets imported exclusively by Target Corporation.
There are well over 500,000 of these various, defective children's pajamas. Specifically, the product defect associated with these pajama and pajama sets is that both the cotton and cotton/fleece varieties, and each of them, do not meed the minimum, federal flammability standards for garments associated with children's sleepwear. In essence, they fail to meet the tight-fitting sizing requirements, which, in turn, poses an obvious burn and injury hazard to children.
The above-referenced children's pajama set recall involves the following:
- Target Circo; and
- Target Xhilaration children's cotton and cotton/fleece pajamas.
There are numerous colors and designs of these children's pajamas and there are similarly a variety of colors and designs, including animal, sports and camouflage designs.
Product identifiers associated with these pajamas include tags and identifiers appearing on the neck of the pajama tops, which include the words "Circo" or "Xhilaration". Again, these garments were sold exclusively at Target stores online and throughout the U.S. in 2012.
